Eriyo Watanabe: Japanese Incense Ceremony and the Practice of Wellbeing

I am excited to share this unique offering featuring my incense teacher visiting from Tokyo, Japan.

Rituals around incense exist across cultures and history. We welcome you to experience an intimate and interactive presentation of Japanese incense ceremonial practices with artist, Eriyo Watanabe. Have the opportunity to activate your senses with unique and rare fragrances as well as learn the history, witness, and engage in a refined and intentional practice of enjoying incense through ceremony. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

Eriyo Watanabe, an experienced master of incense, has been offering Japanese incense ceremonies for 17 yrs. She is also known for her artisanal original blended incense. Her signature incense using Japanese lotus flowers has been highly recognized. She grew up in Japan and lived in London, Paris, Hong Kong, New York and Boston and has traveled to over 50 countries to explore arts and culture. She has studied at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London and Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, where she received a Master’s Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy and Holistic Health. She has given lectures on the history of incense and workshops at Embassies of Egypt, Oman, and Bulgaria in Tokyo, Urasenke School, Yokohama Museum of Art, Yokohama International School as well as the Embassy of Japan in India and Vietnam. In addition, she has offered training programs at Shiseido, Estée Lauder, Kirin, Unilever, Firmenich among others.
