We believe in slowness,
hanging out at home,
and aesthetics with integrity.

Incense
Incense powders, cones, sticks, and oils have burned in temples and homes across the planet for over five thousand years. Many of the techniques and ingredients from its beginning are still in use. Fragrance in space is not as commonly an intentional part of our daily life and decor as it has been in the past. But by understanding how deeply our emotions and memories are tied to our sense of smell, it seems a layer worthy of a revisit.
Mia Reiko Braverman – having studied with specialist Eriyo Watanabe – makes small-batch Japanese-style incense using natural and ethically sourced materials.
Events
What gets anyone out of the house, across town, and into shared space? We’re homebodies so it seems contradictory to host, let alone participate in, events. Why? We believe that real life interaction amongst strangers is key to community health. The sensorial quality of that space also matters. With all this in mind, we aim to create spaces through curated live performances, pop-up shops, or workshops, that welcome, engage, and, quite frankly, don’t feel like a waste of time.
Shop
In Japan there is a wonderful custom of bringing home gifts for your friends, family, and colleagues called omiyage. The spirit of omiyage inspires us. Whether for someone special or yourself, we hope our selection incites the precious joy of gift giving. Fumi offers a selection of handmade incense, unique artful objects (new and old), stationery, homewares, and limited edition work by artists. Shop online or at one of our upcoming pop-ups.
