Modern Renga is a poetry workshop for anyone, not just poets or writers. Taking inspiration from renga, we will bring this historical practice into conversation with our lives today. We’ll learn about the shared origins of renga and haiku, build connections with each other, and play with our words — renga was, after all, a game.
In this workshop, we’ll explore the theme of seasons, a common feature of renga since the 10th century. There’s no need to prepare anything in advance, but start observing how you think and feel about the seasons: what they represent, what senses they stimulate, what they mean to you.
Tea will be provided.
